Blooming Alpine meadows, rugged peaks and snowy glaciers – the landscape of Racines-Ridanna is as varied as it is beautiful. There is something to suit every taste, from family-friendly walks and traditional Alpine huts to daring climbs up to 3,000 metres that require a good dose of experience and condition. You can make your way uphill on foot or take the comfortable Racines-Giovo lift. Once at the top, you can treat yourself to a tasty snack at the local hut, where they serve spicy grey cheese, Alpine butter and South Tyrolean delicacies. The Giovo pass is criss-crossed by spectacular MTB trails that can also be negotiated by e-bike. There are many beautiful sights in the area of Racines, but the Gilfenklamm – Europe’s only white marble gorge – and the thunderous Stanghe waterfalls are in a class of their own and make for an unforgettable experience.
